TaskPaper for Mac 2.2 Preview
TaskPaper 2.2 for Mac has been a “development version” for a long time now. It’s all that I’ve used for a long time, and I think that goes for many TaskPaper Mac users. At the same time it’s been in various forms of development for so long that I kinda forget what’s still being worked on and needs to be finished before it’s released.
So, it’s time to release! I’ve just spent the day cleaning up little issues, and in particular making it work a bit better with SimpleText sync. But before I switch it over to the official TaskPaper release can I get some testers to try it out, and make sure there are no major issues that I haven’t noticed? Changes from the official 2.1 release include:
- Changed File format changed to use indentation only to determine item parent child structure. You can run this applescript on old documents to update them to the new format.
- Added Shift Up and Shift Down commands, for reordering the current line.
- Added Show unsaved changes commands, shows differences between current document and last version saved to disk.
- Added Select block command, selects current entry and all descendants.
- Added Open link command, opens the current link that the text cursor is over.
- Fixed Problems recognizing and incorporating external file changes (such as when syncing with SimpleText)
Please download TaskPaper 2.2 and let me know if it’s ready. Thanks!

I still want to stick with black and white, but I wouldn’t mind making the icons on the Mac circular… in fact I tried it, but I couldn’t figure an easy way to do it. Ideally I’d like all my icons in a single photoshop image where I could turn off/on layers based on what type of icon I wanted to generate. Anyway here’s the origonal photoshop artwork, if anyone wants to create a circular icon from it I’ll consider using it.

I’ve just posted a new TaskPaper 2.2 download with updated “Round” icons.
